Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Mood to Drink suggests drinks for your mood. This policy explains, in plain words, what the app stores, what it sends to us, and how to delete it. There are no accounts and no tracking across other apps or websites. Ads are not personalised and never appear on a drink or recipe while you use it.

What stays on your phone

Your answer to "Do you drink alcohol?", the drinks you saved, made and rated, and the names you add for the party wheel are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What the app sends to us

To learn which drinks people actually enjoy, the app sends anonymous usage records to our server:

  • Drink activity: which drinks you were shown, skipped, opened, made, saved or rated with a thumbs up or down, and the mood, taste and strength you picked to get there.
  • A random install ID: created by the app the first time it sends anything. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, advertising identifier or any other app.
  • Basic app information: the platform (for example iOS) and the app version.

We use these records only to improve drink suggestions, for example by recommending drinks that people often make for a given mood. We do not sell them, use them for advertising, or share them with anyone else.

The app also downloads the latest drink list from our server. Like any web server, ours keeps short technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the service. These logs are not linked to your usage records.

Notifications

Notifications are off unless you turn them on. If you do, the app sends us a push token from Apple, which lets us deliver a note when new drinks or features arrive, and whether you have Plus, so a note about Plus only reaches the right people. The token is linked to the same random install ID as your usage records, not to your name or Apple ID. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple. Turn them off anytime in Your bar or in iOS Settings, and “Delete mine” removes the token too.

Purchases

Mood to Drink Plus and tips are bought through Apple. We never see your payment details. To know whether you have Plus and to let you restore it, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase service. RevenueCat receives your purchase history for this app and a random ID that RevenueCat creates. That ID is not your Apple ID or name and is not linked to the usage records above. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Ads

Ads in the app come from Google AdMob. You can choose to watch a short video to try a Plus feature. The free app may also show a full-screen ad now and then at a pause, such as after you close a recipe, and a small banner in Your bar. These are limited to a few a day, never shown to Plus members, and never shown after you pick a low day. All ads are not personalised, and the app does not ask to track you across other apps. Google still receives information it needs to serve the ad and prevent fraud, such as your device type, IP address and an identifier for this app. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice anytime under “Ad privacy choices” in Your bar. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Where your data is kept

Usage records are stored on our own servers, hosted by Hetzner. We keep them only as long as they help improve recommendations.

Deleting your data

In the app, open Your bar, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete mine. This deletes your install ID and every usage record linked to it from our server straight away. You can also email us and we will do it for you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your data. Because the records are anonymous, the in-app delete option is the most reliable way to exercise these rights. For anything else, contact us.

Age

Mood to Drink is meant for adults of legal drinking age in their country. Alcohol-free drinks are always available, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

Changes to this policy

If what the app collects changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app.
